Worked directly with Brighton & Hove Council to create an animated video that communicates the experiences of young people in care.

We decided on an animated delivery to both protect the identities of the children and to represent their playfulness and creativity.

I met children in care and interviewed them, then cut out relevant audio clips to be used in the final video.

Then I produced a photo shoot of all the tabletop elements and props, which I sourced, and went hands-on, compositing and animating a digital camera across a changing desk, a concept I agreed upon with stakeholders at the Council.

To match the children’s personalities and interests, I comissioned and managed character design work from 2 other creatives, and assembled the talking characters, which were then composited with the tabletop video.

Video was used by the Youth Advocacy Project team, a part of the Brighton and Hove Council, to communicate the experiences of their young people in care.
